Student Member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy)
Andy was born in Dundee and has lived in a few different areas close by throughout his life. As a singer and songwriter, he has had some success and continues to compose to this day. He enjoys spending time with friends and family and is an avid fan of chess, snooker, film, and literature.
Having worked previously within the homelessness sector and having a degree in criminology/sociology, he is well placed to offer a different perspective regarding issues that clients may be experiencing.
Currently in his third year of a Master’s degree in Counselling at Abertay university, Andy’s approach is empathic, accepting, ethical and non-judgemental whilst working within a pluralistic framework. This in essence, means that therapeutically, ‘one size doesn’t fit all’ and it is recognised that each client is unique and has individual hopes, fears, personal resources and needs.
